Steps in Getting Started with ABA Therapy
Here is our step-by-step process to treatment.
Step 1:
Guiding You to Our Services
We will arrange a phone call with you to discuss whether our services are a good fit for you and your family. During our call, we will discuss scheduling, and availability needs along with preliminary questions regarding service approval including insurance coverage.
Step 2:
Initial Assessment
A comprehensive initial assessment will be completed in-person. Although this is an initial assessment, ongoing assessments continue for the entirety of services as this is an important step in collecting progress data for decision-making. This process is the start of creating the individualized treatment plan which will continuously change based on client and family needs.
Step 3:
Treatment Plan
A board certified behavior analyst (BCBA) will create an individualized treatment plan addressing all relevant client needs aligning with family priorities. Active involvement from parents or caregivers is crucial in shaping an effective and successful treatment plan the benefits the client and family.
Step 4:
Treatment Sessions & Data Collection
Treatment sessions will be designed in alignment with the treatment plan goals. Following each session, data and progress notes are recorded and made accessible to parents or caregivers through our web-based electronic health record system.
Step 5:
Re-assessment & Progress
A BCBA assigned to your case will act as your care manager and maintain consistent communication through phone calls and in-person visits. This allows for consistent dialogue between treatment team members ensuring that goals, progress, and implementation of the treatment plan are adjusted as needed. Although assessments are on-going, a formal re-assessment of the client’s progress and goals are completed every six months for continued services.
Step 6:
Treatment Plan & Goal Modifications
Our client’s goals are flexible and can be updated at any point in time during services. The most important focus is addressing our client's specific needs while aligning with the family priorities. As our client’s progress and reach goals, new goals will be introduced to further their skill set. Research shows early intervention is crucial for the best outcomes and recommended through childhood.
